2 years ago, the same event, the same location, AC'06. For our batch, part B'06, it was our first ever performance, to be showcased to an audience of 8000 people. We knew what was expected of us. At stake was the glory of HCINCC PDS, It was either make or break. We cannot afford to disappoint.
Sadly, our performance was not up to standard.
2 years later, we were given a chance to redeem ourselves. Impress the audience, and earn back the honour and glory of HCINCC as the BEST PDS unit in NCC, or screw up once again and let another golden opportunity go to waste.
This time, gladly to say, we impressed the audience. In just 6 minutes, we showed everyone that we deserved to be the Centre of Excellence for PDS. After hearing the defeaning appluase from the audience, all the trainings and effort that we put in for the performance suddenly felt worthwhile. I would never forget this wonderful experience. After I logged in to MSN when I reached home, I received very positive feedback about our performance from my friend who was present at the ceremony.
After the performance, while I was immersed in my thoughts, the realisation that our NCO term is going to be over very soon hit me hard. It suddenly dawned on me that after we ORD, we would never have the chance to perform PDS in front of a crowd ever again. All that would be left are this bunch of wonderful memories that we used to have during our NCC careers. How recent it seemed, when we were told to come down for training on a wednesday in half u, and Senior Ting Feng told us that it was a PDS training, and now it would soon be over. How time flies indeed.
To juniors: Please cherish every single training that you have now, and not to regret only when your NCC career is coming to an end.
Anyways, good job to everyone who was involved in the performance in one way or another.
